Surgery Center

Built in 2006, Shoreline Vision Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) is the first surgical center along the West Michigan Lakeshore dedicated exclusively to surgery of the eye. With two operating rooms, a laser treatment room, and pre-operative and post-operative facilities, the center allows patients the convenience of having surgery and procedures performed safely outside a hospital setting.

Convenience

Because of its adjacency to the main clinic, there is flexibility in both scheduling and accessibility. The surgery center allows our doctors and staff to provide our patients and communities with state-of-the-art ophthalmic care, both in procedures and technology. Just steps from the front door are a substantial amount of parking with easy drop off and pick up.

Comfortable & Family-Friendly

Patients and their families are treated with the utmost care. They can relax in a pleasant environment, far from the emergency and trauma situations one may witness in a hospital.

Efficiency

On average, patients leave within two hours after their surgery. If the patient needs overnight care or has serious complications, he or she is transferred to the nearby hospital. It takes much less time to prepare an operating room in an ASC for the next patient than in a standard hospital. Scheduled surgery times are less likely to be delayed or bumped by non-related emergencies as they may be at hospitals. This improved efficiency allows the surgeon to stay on schedule and treat more patients in the same amount of time than he or she would be able to in a hospital.

Cost

Not only are we focused on ensuring our patients have the best surgical experience possible, we also provide cost-effective care that saves the patient, insurance companies and the government money. We are eager to make price transparency a reality and provide pricing information available to our patients in advance of surgery. Our patient co-pays and out of pocket costs is often considerably less than at a hospital. A big reason for these lower costs is that surgery centers are much more economical for Medicare and other insurers.

Accreditation

The ASC is accredited by AAAHC, Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, Inc., having met all federal, state and local laws as well as AAAHC Standards for the care it providers. Accredited health care providers are measured nationally against standards of care, demonstrating strong commitments to maintaining patient safety and dedication to protecting your privacy. The Surgery Center is committed to excellent care and performs around 4,500 procedures per year.
