Shoreline Vision and the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired
Since 1996, Shoreline Vision has been sponsoring events where the proceeds benefit the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ABVI). The Association for the Blind and visually Impaired (ABVI), in West Michigan, offers assistance to these individuals so that they may keep their independence. ABVI also works to promote the prevention of blindness. ABVI is a full-service agency, offering low-vision services, rehabilitation, and education.
A startling 1 in 6 people over age 65 and 1 in 4 over 75 have dramatic visual impairments that surgery and eyeglasses cannot fully correct.
ABVI offers many volunteer opportunities. Volunteers help as friendly visitors, receptionists, drivers, readers, etc.
The 3rd Annual Run 4 Sight will be held this year on Labor Day, September 1 at Mona Shores High School. The Run 4 Sight is a time for Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Opticians, and local businesses to come together, raise awareness, support a great cause, and have fun.
