Your appointment at Shoreline Vision will take about an hour to an hour and a half. During a complete exam, a technician will review your medical and ocular history, check your vision and your eye pressure. The technician will also do a refraction and dilate your eyes. After dilation, you will meet with the doctor. The doctor will let you know if he or she would recommend getting a new prescription for glasses or contacts. The doctor will review test results from any testing that may have been done. Finally, the doctor will check the health of your eyes and present you with educational material on what was discussed.
After having your eyes dilated it may be difficult for you to read small print. You will also be sensitive to bright light and may prefer to wear sunglasses for your ride home. If you do not have sunglasses, we will have some available for you.
